Our on-site chat assistant, Tal, is an AI. Your conversation is stored for about 30 days so the chat can pick up where you left off, then deleted. The listings newsletter asks for your email only when you join it, and nothing is sent until you confirm it. A buyer brief is a separate form: it is stored only if you tick its own box. No advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data.

Who we are

The Tel Aviv Property Report is an independent English-language property publication. This page explains what personal data the website and its chat assistant collect, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain English on purpose — if anything here is unclear, tell us and we will fix the wording.

The chat assistant (Tal)

Most pages on this site offer a chat assistant named Tal. Tal is an AI assistant, not a person, and it will say so if you ask. It answers questions about the Tel Aviv market using our own published data and site pages.

When you chat with Tal, here is what is stored and why:

• Your messages and Tal’s replies. The back-and-forth of your conversation is saved on our own server so the chat can restore context as you move between pages and across a short return visit. It is kept for about 30 days and then automatically deleted.
• A random session ID. Your browser stores a random identifier (in localStorage, not a tracking cookie) so we can reconnect your conversation to its transcript. It is not linked to your name and is not shared with anyone.
• The page you are on. Tal is page-aware, so the current page path travels with your question to give you a relevant answer. We also record anonymous, aggregate events — that the chat was shown, opened, or a message was sent — to understand whether the assistant is useful. These carry no personal information.

We do not use the chat to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not sell or rent chat data. Please don’t type sensitive personal information (financial details, identity documents) into the chat — it is a general information tool, not a secure channel.

Your email — newsletter, or a brief you choose to send

We ask for your email in two separate situations, and only when you submit that form. The newsletter is the weekly listings email. The buyer brief is an optional note to this publication. The boxes are not linked. Joining the newsletter does not send a brief, and sending a brief does not join the newsletter.

For the newsletter:

• Double opt-in. When you submit your email, we send you a confirmation message. You are added to the list only after you click the confirmation link — if you never confirm, your address is not subscribed.
• What we store. The email you submit, the page you submitted it from, and whether you confirmed. We use it to send the newsletter and nothing else.
• Unsubscribe any time. Every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing stops all future emails immediately.

Buyer workspace and an optional brief

My Tel Aviv Buyer Workspace can save your requirements, apartment notes, and budget in this browser only. That save does not sync to another device, and it is not uploaded when you save it. Email and phone are not part of that device save. A file you download contains the workspace you built, still without email or phone.

If you send a buyer brief, we store the answers you submit, the help you request, the time, and the consent statement you accepted. Private apartment notes are stored only when you tick the note. The record is kept for 90 days, then deleted. The save receipt includes a deletion code you can use on the site. Contact details in a brief are unverified. We do not sell the brief or send it to a broker. Sending it does not assign anyone to you and does not promise a reply by a certain date. Newsletter delivery continues to use the confirmation flow above.

Who processes your data

We keep the list of processors short and name them plainly:

• The chat itself runs on our own server at chat.telavivpropertyreport.com. Transcripts live there for the ~30-day window described above.
• Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) is our email service provider. When you subscribe, your email and confirmation status are handled by Brevo to run the double-opt-in and to send the newsletter. Brevo processes this data on our behalf under its own terms and privacy policy.
• Cloudflare serves and protects the website. Site traffic analytics are cookieless and aggregate — they do not identify you or track you across other sites.

Cookies and tracking

This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through. The chat assistant stores a single random session ID in your browser’s localStorage purely to reconnect your conversation, as described above. You can clear it at any time from your browser’s site-data settings; doing so simply starts a fresh chat.

Your choices

• Don’t chat — nothing is stored if you never open the assistant.
• Clear your chat — clear this site’s data in your browser to drop the session ID and start over; transcripts age out on their own within ~30 days.
• Unsubscribe — use the link in any newsletter email.
• Ask us to delete your data — contact us (below) and we will remove your newsletter record and any chat transcript we can identify.

Changes to this policy

If we change what the chat stores or add a new processor, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. This is version dated October 10, 2026.
